Heaven Speed the Chameleon, 2021

Shortlisted: Fiebre Dummy Award 2021, Belfast Photofestival 2022 and Fotografia Europea + Skinnerboox Book Award 2022

Heaven Speed the Chameleon describes a journey from early photography to a torrent of contemporary digital imagery. Photographs from the past collide with those from the present in dynamic collages which collapse and remake meaning. Stolen stock photos meet sticky ghosts of Empire: the archive is violently plundered and pushed towards uncertain futures.

Soft Knowledge, 2020

Shortlisted for Images Vevey book award, 2021

Soft Knowledge draws on Aby Warburg’s concept of an “afterlife” of images in which the image continues to “adhere and haunt.” Through analogue and digital collage, Soft Knowledge explores these moments when images resurface and return in unexpected ways.

A place without ground, 2020

“The thing we stare at has foundered, sunk into the image, and the image has returned to that deep fund of impotence to which everything reverts. [The] force [of the image] is always groundless – its force comes from a place without ground, an abyssal place.”
